Profile
Preetha Suresh Rini represents clients in complex business litigation and appeals. She has wide-ranging experience at various stages of litigation, including state and federal trial experience, federal bankruptcy proceedings and state and federal appeals. Preetha's experience includes matters involving allegations of fraud, copyright and trademark infringement cases, First Amendment violations, False Claims Act violations and unfair and deceptive trade practice claims. She also represents clients seeking permanent resolutions of mass tort liabilities in bankruptcy court and clients sued in putative mass tort class actions.
Preetha's creativity and business acumen benefit her clients as she seeks to craft innovative solutions for their needs. Prior to joining Robinson Bradshaw, Preetha was an attorney with Ellis & Winters LLP. She also owns her own art business, Prints By Preetha.

Represents a Fortune 20 telecommunications company in defense of a series of cases alleging False Claims Act and other claims related to the alleged under-collection of certain government taxes. Achieved complete dismissal of claims in Pennsylvania.
Represents a health care provider in defense of a putative class action alleging claims that its website improperly utilized health information provided by website users.
Represents the debtor as special counsel for asbestos claims estimation matters in In re Bestwall LLC, Case No. 17-31795 (Bankr. W.D.N.C.).
Represents the debtor as special counsel for asbestos claims estimation matters in In re DBMP LLC, Case No. 20-30080 (Bankr. W.D.N.C.).
Regularly represents appellants and appellees in appeals before the Fourth Circuit, North Carolina Supreme Court and North Carolina Court of Appeals.
Represented a manufacturing company alleging fraudulent behavior by a former employee who disclosed confidential trade secrets, and obtained a favorable settlement.
Obtained summary judgment on behalf of North Carolina attorneys sued in a defamation lawsuit.
Represented a college student sued for defamation on her social media account, and obtained a favorable settlement prior to a hearing on a motion to dismiss.
Defended a corporation sued for a products liability case in which the plaintiff alleged injury caused by inhaling wood dust. The case was resolved at summary judgment in favor of the corporation at the trial court and affirmed by the Fourth Circuit.
