Profile
Brent Torstrick's practice areas include all aspects of commercial real estate development. He has particular proficiency in the planning, development, leasing, financing and disposition of shopping centers. Brent also is experienced in the structuring of condominium projects, especially in mixed-use developments. His relationships with prominent developers such as Collett & Associates, Cambridge Properties and Crescent Communities extend back 25 or more years.
Brent's shopping center development experience ranges from single-tenant projects to power centers. He has represented Corporate Property Group and its affiliates in the development of 25 or more centers in the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida, and has been working with Cambridge Properties on several multiple-use projects in the Carolinas.
Brent's condominium experience includes dozens of residential projects and multiple mixed-use projects, many of which incorporate hotel and related commercial uses. He also focuses on the development and sale of residential lots to homebuilders.

Represents Atrium Health in the development of The Pearl, a mixed-use innovation district in Charlotte that will include a new medical school campus.
Represents Cambridge Properties in the development of Royal Creek in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Rand Crossing in Garner, North Carolina, and Harris Farms in Mooresville, North Carolina, each of which is a mixed-use project that include retail, commercial, single-family and multifamily residential components.
Represented Crescent Communities in the acquisition of value-add office buildings in Charlotte, Durham and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Represents The Jackson Companies in the development of SayeBrook Town Center, a mixed-use project in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, that includes a retail component anchored by Target, as well as multiple phases of single-family and multifamily residential development.
Represented Corporate Property Group and Magnolia Property Group in the development and sale of six retail projects in the Carolinas anchored by Hobby Lobby, and approximately 25 other single-tenant and multi-tenant retail projects from Florida to North Carolina.
Represented FMW Development in the acquisition, development and disposition of Live on Hillsborough, a portfolio of student housing projects in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Represented Concord Properties in the development of 10 free-standing Chick-fil-A restaurants across the Southeast.
Represented Roof Above Inc., on a pro bono basis, in the renovation of its Tryon Street Shelter and the construction of the new Howard Levine Shelter, including closing three separate grants and loans for each project from private and public funding sources. Also represented Roof Above in the acquisition of Hillrock Estates, a 340-unit apartment complex in Charlotte that has been preserved as affordable housing, including the closing of loans from Fannie Mae, a foundation and the city of Charlotte.
