Garrett Steadman represents clients in complex litigation disputes. He has advised clients at various levels of litigation, from fact investigation through the appeals process. Garrett maintains a diverse commercial litigation practice. He has represented clients in unfair and deceptive trade practice, breach of contract, employment, class action and other general business litigation matters.

Represents timber company in large property acquisition contract dispute.
Represents nation’s leading technology software vendor for state record filing systems in defense of class action asserting constitutional violation claims.
Represents largest health care system in North Carolina in defense of malpractice claims implicating standard of care applicable to nurse practitioners.
Represents national bank in defense of labor and wage and hour disputes.
Represented nation’s leading home improvement corporation in defense of class action wage and hour claims and obtained favorable resolution of dispute.
Assisted North Carolina Department of Justice in litigation against e-cigarette manufacturer and helped secure nation’s largest settlement in similar litigation.
Appellate Litigation
Represented national insurance company in complex appellate case involving questions of statutory interpretation implicating the entire insurance industry, and obtained wins on appeal at both the North Court of Appeals and North Carolina Supreme Court.
Represents life insurance company in defense of negligence claims and successfully overturned multimillion-dollar adverse jury verdict after trial.
Represents historical Christian organization in North Carolina in defense of challenge to zoning permitting for new facility.
Pro Bono
Represented client in appeal involving applicability of domestic violence dispute orders as applied to same-sex couples in a case that encouraged state legislature to update laws.
