Robinson Bradshaw attorney Glen Caplan was featured in a recent WRAL article chronicling the history of Durham’s American Underground as it celebrates its first decade of success. Caplan was a leading voice in advocating for the creation of American Underground, a hub for entrepreneurial development that provides workspace, content, resources and connection for members of the startup community.
Joystick Labs, of which Caplan was a co-founder, was one of the three first tenants when the space opened in 2010. Since then, American Underground has grown to four locations supporting hundreds of startup companies that have raised over $290 million in funding and created more than 3,000 jobs in the Triangle area. A notable number of those companies are led by women and people of color.
