Aaron Houck focuses his practice on land use and zoning matters, including assisting clients with rezoning requests before local governments. He is familiar with the land use ordinances and regulations in Charlotte and other local governments in the region, including those in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston and Union counties.
Aaron's clients benefit from his practical experience as the former director of regional policy for the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute. He worked with policymakers from across the Charlotte region and conducted research on land use regulation, including a project in collaboration with the National Zoning Atlas. Prior to that role, Aaron was a tenured professor of political science at Queens University of Charlotte.
