Women’s History Month: Katie Edmiston
PDFIn celebration of Women’s History Month, Robinson Bradshaw is highlighting women from the firm throughout March. Meet conflicts and intake specialist Katie Edmiston.
Describe what you do at Robinson Bradshaw.
I run conflict searches to ensure new work we take on aligns with the interests of our current and former clients. I also help with the intake process where we set up new clients and matters and edit those as needs change.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy the chance to build relationships with a lot of different people here – within my department, LPAs, IT, lawyers. I really like working in a group setting, too, where we get to brainstorm ideas for improving our systems and processes.
What advice would you give a younger version of yourself?
People aren’t paying attention to the little things you’re worried about! Follow what you feel is best and try not to get caught up in what other people are thinking.
Who is a female role model you admire, and why?
Greta Thunberg! She’s passionate, smart, and proves you don’t have to be a certain age to make a global impact.
Tell us a little-known fact about yourself.
I’m beginning to take YouTube guitar lessons. The guitar was a Christmas gift in 2000 so I figured it was about time.
