Robinson Bradshaw secured a victory in the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court on behalf of client Verizon Communications. Phone Recovery Services LLC filed a lawsuit against Verizon and other telecommunications companies claiming that the companies violated the Massachusetts False Claims Act in their billing, collecting and remitting of taxes related to 911 service. The trial court granted a motion to dismiss, and the Supreme Judicial Court affirmed, holding that PRS lacked standing to file the lawsuit under the Massachusetts False Claims Act.

The Robinson Bradshaw team consisted of Gregory L. Skidmore who argued the appeal on behalf of all defendants, Mark A. Hiller, Fitz E. Barringer and Travis S. Hinman.
