Robinson Bradshaw Paralegals Featured for Pro Bono Service
PDFA recent South Carolina Lawyers Weekly article profiled Robinson Bradshaw paralegals Andrea Blosser and Jill Okerlund for their commitment and contributions to pro bono service.
Blosser recently received the North Carolina Bar Association’s Outstanding Paralegal Pro Bono Service Award after donating more than 270 hours of pro bono service in 2023 on behalf of clients including a racial harassment victim, a federal prisoner and abused immigrant children.
“Our firm has a huge push for giving back to the community and having the opportunity to devote my time to that is great,” Blosser said of Robinson Bradshaw. “Many people need and deserve justice, yet they often cannot afford legal fees.”
Okerlund works closely with CLIMB, or Charlotte Legal Initiative to Mobilize Businesses. Founded by Robinson Bradshaw and another local law firm, CLIMB provides pro bono business law services to historically under-represented entrepreneurs and small business owners of limited means through a network of volunteer lawyers from Charlotte law firms.
“I would say that the work I do for CLIMB is my favorite part of the day,” Okerlund said. “We’ve served about 120 clients, and it’s just amazing to see all the different types of businesses and entrepreneurs we’ve helped.”
