Robinson Bradshaw received the Law Firm Pro Bono Award at the North Carolina Bar Association’s annual meeting last week in Charlotte. The award recognizes law firms for their commitment to pro bono service through the contribution of pro bono hours, the percentage of billable hours devoted to pro bono work, the number and percentage of firm attorneys providing pro bono legal service, the firm’s creative approach to pro bono engagement, the consistency and sincerity of its pro bono program, and the presence of a law firm culture that is grounded in the belief of voluntary pro bono service.
“I am proud that Robinson Bradshaw is a firm known not only for excellent lawyers, but also outstanding people,” said Managing Partner Allen K. Robertson. “Our firm embraces and celebrates giving back, and we thank the North Carolina Bar Association for shining a spotlight on this important work that benefits both our clients and our communities.”
Robinson Bradshaw’s commitment to pro bono service reaches all corners of the firm with 126 attorneys and professionals recording 5,810 hours of pro bono service in 2023. In particular, the firm received the Law Firm Pro Bono Award in recognition of its representation of a nonprofit community association in an appeal from the North Carolina Property Tax Commission about whether the community was entitled to a tax exemption for providing housing to low- and moderate-income individuals and families. Robinson Bradshaw also received the award in 2010 and 2021.
