Kate Maynard Named a Citizen Lawyer by NC Bar Association
PDFRobinson Bradshaw attorney Kate Gordon Maynard received a Citizen Lawyer Award at the North Carolina Bar Association’s annual meeting last week in Charlotte. Maynard is one of only seven lawyers across the state, and the only lawyer from Charlotte, to receive the award, which recognizes a longstanding commitment and dedication to volunteer and community service.
Maynard played an integral role in the creation of CLIMB, or Charlotte Legal Initiative to Mobilize Businesses. Founded by Robinson Bradshaw and another local law firm, CLIMB provides pro bono business law services to historically under-represented entrepreneurs and small business owners of limited means through a network of volunteer lawyers from Charlotte law firms. Maynard continues to be heavily involved as a founding board member, vice chair and treasurer as the organization continues to grow. In addition, she serves on the board of directors and the executive committee for the Levine Museum of the New South, along with service to her church and several youth-focused organizations.
As Robinson Bradshaw’s general counsel, Maynard advises the firm on legal issues including ethics and professional responsibility, conflicts of interest, risk management and compliance, and privacy and cybersecurity. She is also a member of Robinson Bradshaw’s business development; diversity, equity and inclusion; and pro bono committees.
