Robinson Bradshaw attorney John R. Wester was selected as an inaugural member of the North Carolina Lawyers Hall of Fame. The program from North Carolina Lawyers Weekly honors North Carolina's most significant senior lawyers who are selected for career accomplishments; contributions to the profession, the development of law and the bar; and efforts to increase access to justice. Wester received the award at a luncheon on June 26 in Raleigh.

Wester concentrates his practice in the trials and appeals of complex civil litigation. He has prosecuted and defended numerous class action cases in both federal and state courts, including before the U.S. Supreme Court, and he has extensive experience in the North Carolina Business Court. He is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and serves as vice chair of the ACTL's Task Force on Judicial Independence. Wester is also a member of the North Carolina Chief Justice's Commission on Professionalism, and he served as president of the North Carolina Bar Association from 2009-10.
