Ted Hennessey received the Peter Perlman Service Award from the Litigation Counsel of America. The award recognizes LCA Fellows who contribute in meaningful ways to society by giving back their time and resources in an effort to improve the lives of others.
Hennessey serves on a North Carolina Bar Association committee to implement and draft the Uniform Bar Examination in the state. He is also a member of the NCBA's Justice & Judiciary Committee, and he previously chaired the Administration of Justice Committee. From 2014-15, Hennessey was president of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, and prior held several other leadership roles within the organization. Hennessey's community involvement history includes coaching youth soccer, teaching Sunday school and confirmation classes at his church, and serving as president of his homeowners association. He also has an active pro bono practice, particularly in the representation of children and domestic violence plaintiffs.
