On July 1, Robinson Bradshaw litigator Rob Harrington became chair of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library board of trustees. Harrington sat down with the Charlotte Business Journal's Erik Spanberg to discuss his involvement and leadership with the organization, the evolving role that libraries play in our communities, future plans for library renovations, and the importance of diversity within the library system.
"The other thing that's been a passion for me is making sure that we're on top of diversity and inclusion," Harrington said. "Like every city around us, we've got progress to be made in those areas. That's the makeup of the board, makeup of your volunteers, makeup of your core constituents, makeup of the staff."
