Robinson Bradshaw's Kate Gordon Maynard and Mark Hiller, HORNE's Brad Fuller and FBI Special Agent Jim Granozio explored cybersecurity challenges facing health care providers and other entities operating in the health care industry. (1.25 hours of North Carolina general CLE credit) - 10:30-11:45 a.m. – Effective Compliance Practices for Fair Market Value and Commercial Reasonableness: Lessons Learned from Recent Enforcement Actions
FMV and CR issues continue to drive recent enforcement activity focused on the relationships between physicians, health systems and other providers. Robinson Bradshaw's Carl Beattie and HORNE's Greg Anderson explored those issues, with a focus on both the technical and legal issues that lit the match in recent cases, and the flawed organizational structures and processes that added fuel to the fire. They also examined some of the real-world lessons learned that should guide health care organizations in structuring future transactions and help them identify high-risk FMV and CR compliance risk areas.
