Erik Zimmerman co-organized the North Carolina Bar Association’s 2021 Appellate Practice Section Program, “Effective Appellate Litigation: Improving Your Practice in State and Federal Courts of Appeals.” The participants included appellate practitioners and judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the North Carolina Court of Appeals. The topics included the nuts and bolts of appellate practice, cross-appeals, issue framing, and strategies for addressing the risks that remote work creates for mental health and professionalism.
