Matt Sawchak spoke at the North Carolina Bar Association's 2022 Appellate Practice Section Program, "Appellate Lawyering in Context." Sawchak formerly served as North Carolina's solicitor general, and he participated in this presentation along with North Carolina's current solicitor general and a former member of the federal solicitor general's office. Sawchak's discussion focused on the importance of a strategic approach to appeals, as well as the importance of maintaining credibility with the court both for the case at issue and for future cases.
